Tombstone of William Kennedy, Sr.

During the Revolution, William Kennedy was reputed to be one of the best rifle shots in South Carolina.  Both he and his son William Kennedy, Jr., served with distinction during the War.  Kennedy refused to accept an officer's commission but instead chose to serve as a common soldier.  His wife was Mary Ann Brandon, sister of Colonel Thomas Brandon.
